Aspinwall, Samuel of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Pittston, Maine.

Samuel Aspinwall was born in Canton, Massachusetts, and died in Berlin, Maine. Aspinwall moved around a bit. Unfortunately, it is not crystal clear when he worked in the towns of Cambridge, MA, Salem, MA, Pittston, Maine, and Berklin, Maine. In an 1803 lawsuit, he describes himself as a Cambridge Clockmaker. As a defendant in 1813, he is still described as a clockmaker living in Cambridge. He also worked in Salem, MA, before he moved to Pittson, Maine. It is recorded that he had business dealings with Boston Clockmakers Daniel Munroe and John MacFarlane and is described as a Pittson Clockmaker in two separate civil lawsuits filed in 1810 and 1811 by the Boston Clockmakers for unpaid promissory notes.

We have owned one tall clock signed Pittston.
