The Ingrahams and their many associated firms where in business from 1828 to 1978 some 150 years. This model, the “Dakota”, is a very difficult clock to find in today’s marketplace. It is reported that this model was in production in 1879 and 1880. This example features a case that is veneered in rosewood which exhibits good strong graining. The bezel is wood and opens to the original paper dial which is applied to a tin pan. The Clockmaker’s label is pasted inside the case onto the backboard. The movement is brass construction and is designed to run and strike eight days on a full wind. This movement is spring driven. This clock was made circa 1880 and stands 15.75 inches tall overall.
